Essays:

My common app essay was great. It was about my experience being removed from my home after September 11, 2001, and how the event changed my world view. My Cornell supplement was about my experience in the 2005 MTA strike, and how that experience changed my view of labor and my general thought process. I also tied in my interest in political philosophy, and how reading Michael Sandel's Justice changed my conceptions of disagreements.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. Wish me luck. I think I may need it...

I forgot to mention that I was also appointed captain of the cross country team and competed on the track team.

MY daughter was told by the ILR admission’s person that it all comes down to your essay. If you answered the question that you hit a home run.GOOD LUCK.

do they give you a space on common app to say things about writing letters in the times and playing guitar? you seem like a really solid candidate though, and i’m sure that whoever your competition is, they’re crossing their fingers, too. good luck!!!
