ED chances? help please

I love ND and there is no place else I would rather go. I want to apply EA but heard that it was really tough, could anyone tell me what they think my chances are?

Academics:
ACT- 33
GPA unweighted- 4.15
rank- 3/646
took all honors/AP classes
National Merit commended student
Harvard Summer School

ECs:
Varsity soccer since junior year- State Champs, All-Section Academic Team
Premier club soccer- many titles
Varsity basketball- conference champs, captain since sophomore
band up to 10th grade- 'superior' clarinet ensemble 2004, 2005, 2006

volunteering:
NHS- top ten highest hours, volunteer coordinator
Girl Scouts- Bronze, Silver, and Gold Award
Church, Key Club

I feel like you're slightly over the EA cut-off line. ECs seem decent only because of geniuses with ridiculous resumes at College Confidential. I'm sure sports take up most of your time though.

It always comes down to the essay. I say this every time to everyone.

By the way, good job on soccer.

Definately go EA

Yep I think that you'll probably get in. You have good stats and have a few ECs (rather than 50) to show what you are really passionate about. Additionally, you have a high number of volunteer hours. Like ManUtd said, make sure you write a good essay, and you should be in. :)

what state are you in? i only ask because that could determine how they evaluate some of your ECs (for example, winning state/being ranked highly in a certain region might not be as competitive as another one, and officers know this when they are making decisions). of course, school profile would determine some of that as well. is your school competitive?

oh yeah, what gpa scale are you on? did you mean 4.15 weighted?

thanks for the input everyone i will try to write an awesome essay
vc08- I live in MN, I think there's pretty good competition here, though not as good as CA or CO, still not bad
my gpa is technically on a 4.0 scale, but my school offers A+s, which is about a 4.33

Hey Kacy

You seem like an awesome candidate... great GPA/Rank/and test scores.

You also have displayed leadership and commitment through your varsity sports. I'd accept you, thats for sure...... but make sure to concentrate on the essay, and I think you should be good.

ND doesnt have a early binding agreement, but they do have EA.

Apply early, you should get good news by Christmas and if not you will still be highly competitive in the regular pool.

I'd say go EA definitely

I agree that you're a good candidate for early action. While your sports accomplishments are terrific, the fact that you achieved your Gold Award in Girl Scouts will also be a big plus. If you look at ND's description of its entering classes, they always highlight how many Eagle Scouts and Gold Award winners are coming. It's one of the few distinctions that they separate out for attention, which tells you that they think it is important. Scouting is a great extracurricular activity as it shows leadership and a long term involvement.
