ED Chances of a URM

Hello!

I am a Hispanic (Spain) student with a 35 ACT, 770 USH, 770 Math 1. My UW GPA is 3.65, including a C+ in 9th, but a SIGNIFICANT upward trend, as in, my 11th grade grades are straight A+'s.
I donate a lot of my time to helping an ESL program, along with many other ECs such as debate. I also have some state/national writing awards.
My peer rec is actually going to be from a coworker at an organization I volunteer for, who told me multiple times that he wants to write this rec..

What are my chances to Dartmouth ED?

According to the program I created last week, you have a 19.356% chance of being accepted to Dartmouth.

In an earlier thread, wasn’t it established that you aren’t Hispanic due to Portuguese descent?

I think you have a good shot. Your stats are good, and while your GPA is low-ish, the upward trend is great. What are your EC’s/do you have any leadership positions?

In your previous post you disclosed you were Portuguese. You are not considered Hispanic.

Don’t get a letter of rec from someone who isn’t a teacher. Just because he wants to write it doesn’t mean he will write a good one for you and a good one from an admissions point. It should be from a teacher.

You can get 2 LORs from a teacher and a “supplemental” LOR writer. An employer, or the director of a volunteer organization that the student gives time to…I’m not sure who else can write this LOR. DD had her boss write it.
