Georgetown has no ED.

I know its EA, but I assumed you guys would think ED/EA… Either way, it doesnt make a difference, Im just asking ED/EA for the boost in chances

You can only apply to one school ED.

I know I can only apply to one school ED. Im asking for my chances for each of these schools ED. I’m not that stupid…

All these schools seem like reaches, regardless of EA/ED. Unless you’re a great writer, your application won’t stand out in the very competitive early pool.

Test scores could be higher, but obviously, little can be done about GPA at this point. Get scores in the 2200-2300 range, and I could see you getting into one of these schools.

Vandy is probably the most competitive, then Northwestern/Cornell, then Georgetown, and then JHU. Tufts will probably be the easiest.

@Tanboy, will the relative who works at JHU help me out even more with ED? Also are these schools very high reaches or would ED be able to bring Tufts, JHU, and/or Georgetown to low reaches/high matches?

Having a relative work at the school doesn’t help you in admissions at all. All I know is that if your parent(s) work(s) at an elite school, they will subsidize the cost of attendance, regardless of salary.

Based on your test scores/GPA, I really don’t think you can consider any of those schools matches, regardless of whether or not you apply early. They are reaches for basically everyone, except perhaps those with perfect stats.

ALSO: You need to remember that the ED/EA pool is stronger than the regular pool. If you don’t have a huge hook, you will not stand out.

I wouldn’t recommend an EA application to Georgetown because it does not raise your chances . . . in fact it lowers them (lower acceptance rate EA than Regular)

Having said that I think that Northwestern and Johns Hopkins help you out the most if you apply ED (relative to applying regular there)

Bottom Line: you should apply ED to whichever of those schools you like the best and believe that you will succeed at.

Listen, I was not implying that you were stupid. I just wanted to make sure you knew this important info. You shouldn’t ask for yoyr chances for these schools ED because you are supposed to apply to your top choice school ED. Pick one from that list.
