Here are my stats and such. I've already sent in all my stuff to Columbia, and they've processed it all so now I'm just waiting for a reply.

I'm not sure about my GPA, but it's in the mid-high 90s unweighted and high 90s-low 100s weighted. My class rank is 4 out of approx. 850. All my classes have been honors or AP when possible. Also, this year I'm taking an honors Mandarin Chinese class after school two days a week as part of a new program at my school.

AP:
-Government and Politics 5
-US History 5
-Spanish Language 5
-Computer Science AB 5

When I graduate, I will have taken 8 AP classes, including the four listed above. This year I am taking AP English (designed for the AP Lit test), AP Physics (I'll be taking Mechanics, not sure about E&M), AP Calc BC, and AP Euro. Also, my AP Comp. Sci. class was an independent study that I took with no previous programming experience.

ECs:
-Tennis (JV 9-10, Varsity 11 and hopefully 12)
-School Newspaper (Staff writer 10, Co-Editor of Op/Ed 11-12, Co-Editor of World 12)
- Hi-Q (An academic quiz competition, 10, Main team 11-12)
-Spanish Club (11-12)
-Science Club (10-12)

-Robotics (9-10)
-NHS

In addition, I attended Johns Hopkins University's Center for Talented Youth program four years in a row from the summer after seventh grade until the summer after tenth grade. There I took the following classes:
-Geopolitics
-Great Revolutions (French and Russian Revolutions)
-Modern European History
-Philosophy of Mind

This past summer I attended the PA Governor's School for International Studies. To get in I had to go through an application process of sorts and apparently the acceptance rate is about 20%.

Awards:
-Numerous class awards, including awards for AP Government and Politics, AP Spanish, and AP Comp. Sci.
-Thomas Jefferson Book Award from University of Virginia
-Bausch and Lomb Science Award
-Maybe some other stuff, but I can't think of it all right now

Recs:
I asked my AP Spanish teacher (who I had for one semester in my sophomore year and all year my junior year) for one. She was the one who gave me the AP Spanish award and wrote me a rec. for PA Gov. School. I also asked my American Literature teacher. He was both my teacher in my junior year and is the faculty advisor for the school newspaper. He told all the editors of the paper that they essentially had to let him write them a rec., so that one should be good.

I also have a really good relationship with my counselor, so I think her rec. will be really good.

Essay:
I wrote a sort of creative picce about eating dinner on my one friend's roof in New York City one night. I tried to bring out the things we discussed that night, trying to highlight my interests and personality traits. I also tried to work in some symbolism with a pomegranate.

The only other thing I want to mention is that for my majors, I chose Philosophy, Economics, and Comparative Lit. in that order. I know that Econ. is pretty big, but I don't think Philosophy or Comp. Lit. is, so that might help my chances a bit.

Okay, that's it. I hope that that wasn't too much, but I wanted to make sure I didn't leave anything out.
