<p>ED won’t help as much as ZBJE21 said because of the increased competition. Basically, with RD the admissions office can accept more than their prospective class size because most people don’t opt to enroll in Hopkins (about 33% of all admits). In ED, we have about 1300 ED applicants, each very qualified to secure a spot at Hopkins, but admissions knows that if it admits an applicant, that applicant is there for good, hence the tough competition. ED acceptance rates are much higher than RD ones but it’s still very competitive (~40% rate).</p>
<p>With “poor” ECs, good community, stellar grades and good scores, your chances are the same as most ED applicants and it would all come down to your essays and I believe decent ones just aren’t going to make the cut.</p>
