How many of you have applied ED? With the
date approaching, I thought it would be nice to have a place for support and questions.
I just hit submit! So excited and nervous at the same time OTL
I applied to Smith ED1! Now we wait.
According to the Smith Tumblr decisions will be announced Dec.11th @ 6:00!!
Anyone been asked to submit a parent letter of recommendation?
I haven’t. With my application, I submitted two recommendations from teachers and another from my school college counselor who is also one of my teachers.
Does anyone also feel relieved since applications and everything are in but at the same time not relaxing at all?.. This anticipation is killing me haha
Yes! And I’m just not feeling confident, so feeling stressed! One week away!
Can I be nosey and ask everyone’s stats? I’m on the lower end of a typical applicant so I’m hoping applying ED will help.
3.7 weighted
Mixture of AP and regular classes
I think I had a great essay and a fun short answer.
Great extras- very concentrated
Great recommendations
Great interview
@collegebnd16 hmm… sounds really like me…
@collegebnd16
I have similar stats as you, but my weighted GPA is a bit higher. wondering if smith sees GPA weighted or unweighted cause it’ll make such a huge difference. 6 more days! omg
@collegebnd16 I’m also on the low end of the spectrum. My weighted GPA is 3.8. I’m applying for ED II. Best of luck!
4 more days! Ahhh~
do any of you guys know if freshman GPA is taken into account or not?
Yes, it is. If you need to, use the additional info on the application to explain anything.
Good luck everyone!!
I also applied ED! Very excited/anxious to hear back. Only a few more days!
I am really anxious to hear the results. With terrible SAT score and average grades, I am hoping for my admission essays to work out. One day more! sigh
@Swift1291 did you submit your scores?
Freaking out on the inside to hear on Friday!! Smith is my dream school and has been since I visited two years ago.
Also, would the fact that my freshman year grades weren’t great (like a B/B-) but my ones since then have been very good (B+/A-) affect me negatively? I’m really nervous because my interview went well and my other stats are all pretty on-par with what they look for, my GPA is just a shade low because of freshman year.
Most schools like to see an upward trend. If your Freshman year grades weren’t the best, but you made improvements over the course of the next three years, you’re in a good position! As long as your grades have not gotten progressively worse, there’s no need to worry too much. Good luck!
