Has anybody else emailed an admissions officer to get a confirmation of whether decisions could be released this friday or if we will have to wait until monday?!
In the recent Wash U report newsletter it said this year’s ed applications are up 2 percent and the are holding the ed percentage to 1/3 of the class size. It will be even more competitive this year than last year
I did some calculations, and the acceptance rate is probably going to be somewhere 35%? what’s the average freshmen class size
@whoknows0422 about 1600 students if I am not mistaken. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Also, I am really hoping for a Friday release date but I am really feeling a Monday for some reason.
From the Wash U website, they have 2015 incoming class statistics. That year, 29,259 applied. 1,731 enrolled (from all of the colleges). Does not say how many were accepted.
Don’t know how many were ED applicants either.
I heard more like 1700-1750 recently. any other sources? I think it will be monday
Is the ED acceptance rate normally around 35-38%, and this year they are trying to keep ED acceptances to 33% of the freshman class?
So, using an estimate of 1700 for the freshman class, and 1661 ED applicants last year
it seems to be about a 33% acceptance rate for the ED pool
however, on naviance, it says there is a total undergraduate enrollment of 7401, so that may mean they are increasing class size, as 7401/4 is about 1850, so 33% (down from 38% last year) may be an underestimate
according to this article, http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/education/washington-university-celebrates-largest-freshman-class-on-move-in-day/article_db898ad0-68b8-59a0-9d18-b672b7598316.html
class of 2020’s freshman class was 1780 so I would guess at least that for us.
okay, 34-35% seems safe
Sadly, I think it will be next week. It looks like a lot of schools have pushed back the release date as compared to last year.

a friend that works at Wash U informed me that they are trying to keep it to 33% this year
Here’s some information about the high school class of 2017/WUSTL Class of 2021:
https://admissions.wustl.edu/apply_site/Pages/Profile.aspx
Last year the admission rate was 16%. My understanding is that roughly 1/3 of ED applicants are accepted every year.
I don’t know how many are deferred to RD.
@kcmom57 is that 33% of freshmen class or 33% acceptance rate for ed?
hey, not sure if you will know this, but do you know how many students they accept into Sam Fox for ED?
Hopefully at least two (you and I lol). In all seriousness, I want to know too. I’m pretty sure they enroll about 75 each year both ED and RD.
I’m starting to get nervous since it such a small school!! i want to do fashion design, hbu?
I am doing math!
@librarylove Communication Design (for illustration). Yeah when I first saw that number I was intimidated too. Hopefully all the art kids ED to RISD or something so there’s less of us.
Any idea how average sat compare scores from ed applicants to rd?
