ED class of 2022 discussion

@hamurtle said his son received his email last year around 3 p.m. but he’s in CA, so East Coast would receive the email around 6 p.m. if it’s sent on the same schedule.

Did earlier posts suggest they would keep it at 33% of class versus the 38% WUSTL posted for last year? How did that poster know this? That would mean they were taking fewer ED applicants than last year, even more so counting for the 2 percent increase in applicants. (2016 were 1661, I think, and they took 38%) = 631. 2% increase, 1694, 33% of this is 559. I know I am being crazy here, forgive me, but I just was hoping the OP could verify their source that they would have a 11 percent decrease in ED acceptances this year? Did I (hopefully) misread this post?

There’s no way we can know before WashU releases that data. It’s not worth freaking out about because most of the numbers on this thread are speculation.

This page on the web-site seems to be the school’s only acknowledgement of the ed admit rate and it is pretty vague. I don’t see any real reason to believe they are trying to keep ED to 1/3 of applicants though.

I believe the post was saying that the ED acceptances would make up one third of the total class, similar to what it has in previous years. This means that assuming a class of about 1800 students, there will be about 600 ED acceptances. That means about a 35% acceptance rate from the supposed 1694 applicants. It’s not a change in total ED acceptances, but a slight change in acceptance rate.

Hi, I’m joining this thread a little late, but I also applied ED to WashU and am anxiously awaiting my decision. Does anyone know if there’s a chance they will come out earlier than the 15th? Good luck to everyone!

Welcome to all of the new people who have joined this thread in the last few days.

Hoping decisions are tomorrow!

Anyone check their financial aid portal to see if the location of the little green button changed? (see post #355).

@Winky1 mine changed

Thanks, @wyo002 ! I know I am a bit obsessive, but thanks for letting me know you know what I’m talking about! lol

I believe @cowrooster said they know for a fact it will not be up tomorrow at some point. Does anyone else have another source for this, or can they correct me if I’m wrong?

@cowrooster who did you talk to?/can you attach the email to this thread? sorry for being annoying I’m just super anxious to find out

Post #302 is the one from@cowrooster, and I forgot about that. @cjjellybean , any clue from your Mom?

Decisions will definintly not be released tomorrow @librarylove . I know it sucks but I was told in person by someone high up in admissions that they will release later in the week. I wish I was wrong:(

@cowrooster do you know the name of the person that told you?

My moms department ended up being slightly over their number of applications from last year similar to undergrad. She hasn’t heard anything else though

I’m getting super nervous after reading past threads… My scores and GPA aren’t even close to most of the people who have been accepted previously (29 ACT superscore and 4.46 w gpa…) IDK. Im tearing myself up over this lol. I mean yeah my app had some good things (Ive won 1st place in multiple national and international comps, etc…) But I am just wondering if it was enough… Im so worried.

That being said… I have found a couple who were admitted with 28s and 29s…

Stay positive, @Jjlghv73 . Decisions are coming, you’ve submitted your best.

@jighv73 you’ve done everything you can possibly do at this point and it’s out of your hands. Sounds like you will be a great addition at any school. Don’t sweat it.

@jighv73 don’t worry, you’ve done all you can and I’ve seen people in previous years threads that have gotten in with your score and grade so stay positive!
