ED class of 2022 discussion

I’m from St. Louis and my counselor who is close with the Washu admissions committee said that the decisions will come out Thursday most likely.

Thanks, @joshwise . Did your counselor or anyone from the admissions committee say why they need so much more time this year?

WOW who else is nervous!

Hey everyone, since it sounds like we aren’t getting decisions on our portal very soon, it might not be a bad idea to look at our mail. UPS offers a service called Informed Delivery, where they like send you pictures of your letters that come in the mail and tell you when your packages will arrive. Since the acceptances come with gifts, I assume you’d see those as packages coming to you. If the decisions have to be mailed out by Friday, they probably have to be mailed out sooner than Thursday though.

But will delivery come through UPS or the USPS?

or just wait like 4 days haha

@Winky1 The service is through USPS, my bad

If we were to look through usps @tsukisan, how would we do that?

@Tsukisan did you do it and find out?

@aa51400 Once you have a USPS account, you can verify your identity to use Informed Delivery. On the website or app, it’ll tell you when your packages come and show you pictures of the mail that’s on its way to your house. The app will also notify you when the packages reach your local carrier and such.

@topschoolsapplicant No, I screwed up the verification step so I’m locked out for three days :frowning:

Wouldn’t they just mail the packet on the day that the email goes out? I remember some friends from the HS class of 2017 telling me that they got the packet a few days after their online acceptance.

@Winky1 No, he just has an in with the team at Washu and said that is there expected time.

Most of the schools gave additional time to people applying from hurricane and fire areas. Could be a factor.

I have a friend that was accepted ed to a different school and her first acceptance letter was small and then a week later she got a bigger package with small gifts and stuff. Im not sure if washu does the same. if they do, it could be misleading since both an acceptance and a denial letter would be in small packages.

@hamurtle did your child’s acceptance letter come in a big envelope?

It was in a red cardboard envelope-had the acceptance letter plus some gift items. Can’t miss it since it says ‘I’m In.’

The envelope arrives roughly a week to 10 days after the portal is updated.

@Hamurtle did it arrive by the 15th?

I think my son got the envelope on the 18th but I can’t remember.

Does anyone think it might be today?
