ED countdown...

at least he got in!!! thats the important part..

I hope they send them out early this year...

I hope they send them out a little earlier too.. the wait is nervewracking!

Good luck--hope you get in and that my son sees you on campus next year! He loves it there and wishes that he would never have to graduate!

Yah ive been told my two accepted applicants that on the "Academics" section of the thing, there were changes in it that they had not seen before and also theres a student id number for u. I'll ask my friend what exactly the altered academic menu should look like for an accepted student (hopefully) and then ill get back to every1.

However, my dad called today and he spoke to a person in the admissions office who said that we should not receive our letters for like 7-10 days after they are sent out.

Emory= most annoying school with ED

Just checked DD's opus page...there are two new links now for the Emory college April tour and April Open house. Do not know if that means anything bad or good though.

7-10 days after the 15th!!
I really hope thats some sick joke Emory admissions likes to play on overly anxious ED applicants.

seiclan, that definitely sounds positive. Does Emory defer ED applicants?

Emory does not.

seiclan... I also just got those two new links... but did anything happen when you clicked them?

D has those links too, but I don't think it means anything. Nothing happens when you click on them. It's probably just a system-wide add-on.

Where on the Opus page is that?

hmm..dont think those mean anything.....tHE WAIT CONTINUES!

since when does emory not defer???

no, i just checked the emory website and it said:
"The possible decisions resulting from an early decision application are: acceptance, deferral to Regular Decision (ED I), wait list (ED II), or denial."

lol, i just read from some US NEWS that Emory last year waitlisted 800 and something, and ouf those, accepted 31. Waitlist is no good.

yeah they waitlist like crazy...

but oh emory, i love you, please let me in.

ahhh me too!

i have an id number on my demographic information page... this doesnt mean anything does it?

sooo, guys, are any other people from your schools applying ED to emory?
2 other people from my school are :(...
haha and all 3 of us are in the same AP Psych class...

nope, doesnt mean anything. everyone has one there.

No one else from my school of over 4000 is ED to Emory. A few other kids are applying RD, but who cares about them

jeeeez, lucky! where is your school? we only have about 300 people in my class... of which about 95% are applying somewhere early.
4 or 5 have already been accepted to ivies...
my school is crazy.

ahhaha , my school is located in Miami, Florida; ranked #2 among public schools within the county (and its one of the largest countys in the US).

not too many kids are applying ED from my school OOS. With the Bright Futures plan, a minimal GPA/SAT student automatically receives 75% of tutition for In state schools (or 100% for a little higher SAT/GPA). So, most kids tend to stick to University of Florida and Florida State.

Therefore, not too many ED kids from my school to OOS. And, since Emory is so $$, most kids unfortuentaly(sp) cant afford it.
