Ed countdown

** 8 days!!! **

oh dear. eight days is so soon…
someone who is less anxious than I am (unlikely?), come up with a distracting activity, please!

AHHHH 8 DAYS!!

Why must they be so behind on the times – USE E-MAIL PLEASE!!

I’m so anxious…

I know. I think I would prefer an email. I will feel really . . . unfortunate . . . to get a small letter in the mail. It’ll be devastating.

On a different note, does it make anyone else childishly excited that the admissions office’s phone number ends in 2014? :D

I’ve avoided calling, so I wouldn’t know. But sure. Hopefully this will be good luck for all of us!

ch0c0lat3: I didn’t notice that, but that is awesome!

I am getting quite anxious.

Pulling an all-nighter for Bio, isn’t that nice? On the other hand…

** SEVEN DAYS/ONE WEEK LEFT **

ch0c0lat3: Yes! Very much so.

Nice. I pulled an all-nighter for Theory of Knowledge i.e the most useless subject in the world in which we ask questions such as how do we know the grass is green.

SEVEN DAYS!!!

I am officially freaking out. My best friend applied ED to Dartmouth and today she found out that she was accepted  We are both reeeeally excited.

We need a distraction activity. Someone should think of one who is less stressed… if there is anyone. Oh man oh man.

Already??? Goodness gracious.

I just sent an email to my admissions counselor updating her that I won an award (letter came in the mail today) and this is what she said, quote:

“Thank you for this update message, which I have printed and added to your file for our consideration.”

Wha? I specified I was an ED candidate, and I’m surprised that she would say this–have they not finalized their decisions? Honestly, I’m a bit surprised.

I totally read “SEVEN DAYS” in the voice of that creepy little girl from The Ring. :D

Wej- My guess is that your admissions officer just said that so she wouldn’t give away admission’s decision. You have a tracking number (I’m assuming…) and they would have contacted you otherwise, so don’t worry! I’m sure that if any of us called to submit any additional scores/awards, our respective officers would have done the same.

Oh, I guess I’m just surprised at the latter part of the sentence - as if she’s implying they haven’t considered my file yet.

But, regardless, I’m nervous and anxious and seven days. Yikes.

seven days! woo! i would consider myself less stressed… everything’s out of our hands at this point, so we might as well just enjoy the winter time (like fencing season! any other fencers here?) one of my friends actually had a really good idea to not stress herself out and just mentally detox… she grounded herself from the computer (minus school work) until december 15… she started dec1, i think. unfortunately, though, that won’t stop us from checking the mail  but other activities…

pick a tv show and just watch a few episodes a night! i’ve been working through will & grace, though am considering switching to studio 60…

go running! endorphins make you happy, and happy people just don’t kill their husbands! just kidding (sorry, i’m listening to the legally blonde soundtrack… any other musical theater kids around?). but the endorphins will hopefully make you less stressed, plus the running in itself is an activity. i highly recommend watching the food network while running, especially the cake-baking competitions :P

play tetris! or the eight letters in search of a word game… seriously addicting (just google “eight letters in search of a word”).

watch movies… really good movies.

do homework? i guess?

so yes. that’s all for now. i’m off to do stats (woo!), then chem, then studio 60! happy de-stressing! :)

Oh, all of those are excellent ideas, and some right up my alley. Off to detox. I need to do some physics, art history, gov, and debate work. Hehehe.

wej, do you do policy or LD?

sunnysunshine - If we both get accepted, we must find each other and watch Legally Blonde together. :stuck_out_tongue: BEST.MOVIE.EVER. (I’m a dork with theater, like ridiculous. I’m listening to the Into the Woods soundtrack right now because my high school is doing it this spring.)

Good activities! I would go running, but the snow is ridiculous  I like the tv show idea. I’ve been working my way through Boy Meets World :D

I need to finish my Calc homework and write an essay (for gym!) sooo maybe that will distract me.

sigh

Ah! Boy Meets World! I’m totally inspired to relive my childhood!
And I’m a theatre dork/ex-fencer! Our school just announced that the musical is Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, so I got the soundtrack and am listening. These past two weeks without theatre have been torture (our fall play was The Diary of Anne Frank-I played Mrs. Frank-yay!). It’s funny because there were all these rumors as to the show, the biggest one being Cats, and when our director was announcing it, he kept giving hints ie It has people playing animals, written by ALW, and then announced Joseph…
Sorry, end threadjack!
