If the deadline if specified as Nov. 1, do I have to submit my online application before that day, or is 11:59 PM on Nov. 1 fine?

I'd like to know to lol - it'll help me manage what little time I have left.

I would assume you could wait until the last minute as long as it was in on time.

I assume too- though that would be a really bad idea, things always seem to go wrong at the wrong time, and a lot of times things go slow because they're being flooded with applications

That seems like a really good way to miss the deadline....

You could submit it 3 days late online and you'd still be fine. Not that you would want to. I'm just saying.

Think about the kids who are sending it via mail. If they postmark it on Nov 1, it probably won't get there till the 10th. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

bad idea, many colleges take the EA/ED option after Nov 1!

the apps that reach 3 days after nov1 are fine. but the time stamp on your app online must be nov 1 the latest.

I see what your saying, but I just don't buy that. 3 days late just isn't that much of a hassle considering it will take them a good 2 weeks to collect and compile everyones scores/recs. Colleges are desperate to improve their rankings. If your a strong enough candidate, they'll accept you even if its slightly late. If your not strong enough, they gladly reject you to add to their selectivity ranking, whether the app was late or not.

well i do't buy that too, but i can't afford (or rather, not courageous enough) to take that kind of risk. :)

its certainly not something i would advocate.

HERE IS YOUR SOLUTION: Just do it earlier... :)

For my ED, Vanderbilt, I actually called them and asked. Their ED deadline is Nov. 1st. However, they said I would have to send it out by tomorrow, Oct 31st, at the very latest.

Weird.

Sounds like bad info to me.......was it a work study receptionist???

I have no idea who it was. I just know I called admissions and the first person I talked to gave me that response.

And the admissions website says what? I mean every other school goes by postmark and I'll bet they do to. You could express mail it by tomorrow nite and still get it there if your info is correct.

Haha, thats exactly what I have planned. Rush to the post office tomorrow after school and over-night mailing it.

I always just scheduled a pick up at my house.......no extra cost and saves you the time if you need it. Such a fine service. If you cannot stop by the dispenser at your local drop box for the envelope/mailing label the driver will have it and wait for you to fill it out. They know the deadline is tomorrow too.

so does the time you submit the app. depend on where you live? cuz 11:59 in cali isn't 11:59 in New York

same ques...wut about the CSS profile??
