ED deadline extensions??

I'm applying early via the online common app to johns hopkins. I'm putting some of the finishing touches on my application and ill be done tonight/tomorrow in time to hit submit on 10/31, but LIPA (long island power authorities) is warning about mass power outages that might start as early as tomorrow and last up to 10 days due to the approaching "perfect storm" (Hurricane sandy meets an early winter storm in the west meets arctic air in the north, not to mention high tides which will increase costal flooding). Seeing as many schools receive a large amount of applications from long island, is there a chance that colleges might extend the deadline so that those without power can still apply early?

Im trying to finish my application now so there is no risk but i was wondering if anyone knew of any precedent for a situation like this.

Look on their website. I kno for Stanford, their website says absolutely NO EXCEPTIONS for technical malfunction when submitting apps, even if that means the site crashing or no internet connection…

I recall in past years, when there have been natural disasters with timing that coincides with college application deadlines, many schools have extended the deadline.

Duke has moved their ED deadline from 11/1 to 11/4. The info is on their website.

Columbia moved its ED from 11/1 to 11/5
