ED deadline now 11/4

According to its website, Penn has extended the ED deadline to 11/4.

nice, will the common app still be live to November 4th?

Amazing!
First glance at the thread I thought “total ■■■■■”!
But it checks out:
[Penn Admissions: Apply Online or Download Application Forms](http://www.admissions.upenn.edu/applying/incoming.php)

Sorry to ever doubt you CountMonteCristo !!

Also, do you think this applies to the Financial Aid office too?
Haven’t seen anyhthing on their site

The email they sent me said:
Common app and supplement due nov.4
Penn financial aid supplement due nov.15

common app and the supplement are due Nov 4! ^^I got that same exact email! Now I can concentrate on finishing my EA app! so excited. we should start a upenn ED discussion thread :)

a bunch of schools extended them because of the power outages that left so many kids without any mode of submitting anything for the next day or so, not to mention the time they already lost.

@mandypandy: What school are you applying EA to? Because you can’t to Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, or Yale…just a head’s up!

70% of my town still doesn’t have power, but lucky me, I do :). I’m only a junior so this doesn’t affect me, but I bet that most of the seniors in my town were freaking out because they couldn’t finish their applications (not just to penn).

@hardworking: I’m appyling to Villanova  Thanks for the heads up, I’m pretty sure BC is another one of the binding EA schools too!

@mandypandy: No problem! I just wanted to double check because it would stink to get disqualified from Penn ED if you accidentally applied to another school with restrictive EA (and then, get disqualified from THERE, too).

Will it look bad if people from the west coast submit after Nov 1st? I’m scared now haha.

according to the daily pennsylvania, the extended deadline is really meant for those affected by the storm, but they’re really not going to spend time checking if each applicant was affected or not. so if you feel like the extended deadline could help you in strengthening your application, then by all means go for it, just try and submit it as early as possible

I submitted my application today, but it still says the deadline for Early Decision is November 1st. And that my application submission was completed in November 2nd. It doesn’t matter right? I would have thought that they also changed the date on Common App to avoid confusion, but maybe not?
And pulpit, I don’t think so. I really doubt the admission offices are going to thoroughly check every applicant’s situation anyway. I was personally not affected by the power outage either.
