From the acceptance letter: "We do expect that your academic performance will continue throughout your senior year at the same high level you have maintained up to this point".

okie.. so what if it doesnt for somebody.. is the offer for admission taken back?

Early decision is for sure a conditional offer of admission the college Adcoms give the acceptees ......

conditional for one very basic reason. They have accepted the student based on his/her past academic records and the promise it inadvertently made to the college to still be maintained afterwards. The college expect the student to improve or at worst maintain all standards of academic excellence depicted. If any of the performances in a student's record drops significantly below the preset levels, the offer for admission may be rescinded. One cannot afford to excel throughout and just after acceptance in ED, drop grades by huge margins. In such cases though, the university will sure rescind its offer.

This is basically in light of the fact that univs consider u to excel in the university as well and any failure to do so , can be risky.

All this is stated on the ED acceptances.

Don't worry but the conditional aspect is used very rarely and few drop so significantly to get admission offer taken back..

Vidhushi, just maintain the minimum possible standard, in your case make sure you cross the 70% percent marks in the Indian class 12 boards i would say....

Hope this helps

SM

Honestly, I think nothing will happen to you unless you REALLY screw up, but who wants to take that chance, and who wants admissions regretting their decision before you even get there.
