<p>for people who got in, can you post your stats if you have time? I don't how Oberlin's selectivity is, so I'm hoping this'll help me gauge my own chances of acceptance. Also, if you don't mind, how much merit aid? Financial aid is really important to me, but prob other people considering going here.</p>

<p>GPA & Rank: 4.02, 8/330ish
Tests: SAT I: 800 Verbal, 800 Writing, 700 Math
SAT IIs: 780 Literature, 740 French, 670 US History
Aps: 5 English Lit, 5 English Language, 5 US Government
Courses: Took four APs (school offers six), plus a college-level literature course and some summer academic programs.
ECs:
Clarinet and piano, Scholars' Bowl (captain), Jewish youth group (officer for four years), scouting (Gold Award, legislative internship), Gay-Straight-Transgender Alliance, Poetry & Philosophy Club, creative writing (with a few awards)
Other: National Merit semi-finalist. Legacy. Didn't apply for aid; ended up with a $7,000/year merit scholarship</p>

<p>thanks quaere, although that makes me feel significantly less qualified for rd, lol. I just got a letter about them getting my application though, so I think I'll email my admissions counselor to show my interest and hopefully look a bit more favorable to admissions.</p>

<p>and that's actually pretty much it. don't be discouraged or intimidated by other people's stats or college reviews; i was sure i wasn't getting in, but i was wrong. (sooo excited!!!) as long as you write a great essay and have an honest interview, you should do fine.</p>
