If DD applies ED, would it be better to go undeclared even though she clearly wants bio.? We are headed out next week for the bio session and now I feel very deflated after reading the prior thread re: bio majors. ANy advice?

Until the next round of SUNY cuts is decided there are hiring freezes across all of the SUNY campuses. From what I have read the cuts may not be spread across all campuses.

There aren’t many campuses in the SUNY system like Geneseo. Hopefully, that will be recognized.

Regarding ED, I don’t think you need to worry about identifying BIO as a major. Administration is well aware of the rising interest in the sciences at Geneseo which was the major reason why so much money was invested in builidng a new science building and revamping the old one.

This is a school that has always managed its resources well:

Keep in touch!

Well…she decided not to apply ED, rather will send it in about Nov. 15th. While she loves Geneseo, there are a few privates that may offer enough merit to consider. But we will keep you posted. We are headed there on Friday for the Biology presentation.

My S applied ED for Bio. We shall see.

nymom-which private schools is your D considering?

We are looking at Marist, Univ. of Scranton, Stonehill & Providence. She also applied to Bing & Oneonta. Now, we wait. Sent everything out so we’ll see!
