Hi! Does anyone have any information for how early action and early decision works when it comes to majors like music, acting, MT? I’m having trouble finding information about this on university websites. Thank you!!
@msh1217 my daughter will be attending Syracuse for Acting and applied ED. They required ED applicants to prescreen by 10-1 and the only audition date for ED was 11-15. Her safety North Central College has rolling admissions. Sorry I can not help with any other schools.
@Msh1217, Hartt has an audition weekend in December, and people who audition then find out if they were accepted in January.
Marymount Manhattan has an audition weekend in November, and people who audition then find out in December.
Those are the two I know about.
@msh1217 - NYU has ED1 and 2, NU has ED, Syracuse - somebody mentioned that, BU its a BFA acting with an MT concentration has ED 1 and 2.
Emerson, Boco, Elon, Baldwin Wallace, U Miami all have early action - not a binding decision - in this case, these schools have two decision dates depending on when you auditioned
Some rolling decisions are Catholic, Montclair, Rider, Marymount Manhattan, I think LIU Post is rolling - they usually let you know a week or so after the audition. There are a lot of these rolling schools - you can look at the MT acceptance how and when thread and try to put together a more comprehensive list.
@msh1217 D was accepted ED (acting) at NYU last year. There was an ED audition weekend in mid-November. I don’t know if it was solely for ED students though. D received acceptance in mid-December and pulled apps/dropped auditions at the other schools of interest.
