ED/EA Question

I think I completely understand Early Decision and Early Action, but
Could I apply Early Decision to one school and also apply (non-restrictive) Early Action to several other schools?

Also: Could I apply to a rolling admissions school in addition?

There are only two restrictions. You can only apply to one school ED. If you are admitted by your ED school (and determine you can afford to attend), you must withdraw all other applications you’ve sent out, and turn down all admissions offers you’ve gotten.

Amarkov is right. However, to answer your questions, yes you can apply Early Decision to one school and Non-restrictive Early Action to another (as long as the school doesn’t note otherwise).

To the second question, yes again. You can apply ED to a school. EA to another, and than rolling to another.

Best of luck to you,

 • Mike

The statement above is correct. When am applying to the university I choose I am going to use ED.

Let’s see if I got this straight;

I can apply to one place ED, another one EA, and multiple places regular. This can be all at the same time. If I get accepted ED, I have a limited amount of time to accept and then I must contact all the schools and withdraw. If I am turned down ED but I am accepted EA, I can wait till spring for me to accept and do not have to withdraw from other places.

Is that about it?

You are exactly correct!

Thanks everyone
