ed/ea schools are asking for w2's...

how's this even possible if they don't come out until the 2006 fiscal year (they're asking for 2005)

Call the schools and clarify what they are asking for - most likely looking fore w2's filed with this past springs tax return for last year.

cujoe, did you ever hear from URochester about the fee waived application?
(D is in the same boat)

oh yea, they said to make a copy of the letter... either award, and to send it along with the biographical info part of the app :) hope this helped

1ofeach, remind your daughter to make an interview, it's required if you want any of that big scholarship money :)

Thanks! Yes she did have an interview and really liked the school. What did you think of it?

haven't visited, bit far... like 6 hours drive, and i lack the time, and all the interviews in my area are "booked" apparantly, so i'm gonna sched. my phone interview this week ;)

It IS a hike from almost everywhere. one of the few downsides of the school.
But depending on how admissions turn out, it's definitely in the running.

You must remember when you apply ED you are providing W-2's and financial information from your 2004 tax year. Your financial aid package will be based on this information.

While you can ask for an adjustment based on changes in your finanical situation, you really have incomplete informtion as your W-2, interest statements are not available until January and you usually must sign your intention to attend and with draw all applications before the end of December.

In the end, are you really getting the best aid package from your ED school?

I am just throwing it out there as this is just one of those things that makes you say hmmmm,

If you (your parents) have had a major shift in income from one calendar year to the next I think that you may really be placing your self on the down side of the power dynamic in the ED process.
Basically you have said that you (your child) will attend regardless of the aid package given. Your college has given you a package based on the information submitted and you have a realatively short window to work out any changes in your situation.
