On Penn's site, they said that the financial deadline is Nov. 1. To get a financial aid supplement, you must have already submitted your materials. Does this mean I cannot get financial aid if I submit my materials for ED at the end of this month?

i want to know this as well…

ohmygoodness…are you serious???

a friend of mine who graduated '08 and went to Penn said that she submitted her financial aid stuff after she got admitted…

Why do they need all these financial aid forms filled out by Nov 1? I thought UPenn is need blind admission, why do they need fafsa estimate, w-2 and income tax form so early? The acceptance rate is very low, what do they do with all these information of which maybe 70+% will not be used for anything because the students are not even accepted?

Just one question? Where do you see this because I always was under they impression that you turn in your Financial Aid Forms in the Winter or Spring?

It is under UPenn Student Financial Services website which seems to be their version of Financial Aid Office:

[Financial Aid Checklist](http://www.sfs.upenn.edu/finaid-checklists/checklists-pro-us-regular.htm)

so…we actually do have to submit our apps in before we can fill out the penn supplement?

If you follow the link, it takes you to the admission portal which require ID that they give us after we submit the ED application. Maybe Nov 1 deadline is not a hard deadline? It’s going to take us another week before all the essays are ready to go, it does not look like we can get to the FA supplement until after Nov 1.

“so…we actually do have to submit our apps in before we can fill out the penn supplement?”

Let’s be clear, there are two different things here. The application supplement is there and you need to fill that out with your common app. Then there is the FA supplement, which you need to fill also by Nov 1 according to the UPenn website, but we can’t get to that until the admission office gets our application and issue us an ID to the portal.

Okay, I just got off the phone with them and the admissions office said the deadline was extended to the 15th, for all those ED FA forms. She said the notice had not been put up or sent out yet because they themselves just recently realized the predicament.
