For those who have been (or have kids that have been) accepted ED, did you hear back from the college? I sent in my confirmation letter (with deposit) several weeks ago, and I haven't gotten ANYTHING from them yet. The silence worried me so much that I called to be sure they had recieved the deposit--and yes, they had.

I don't think my daughter has received anything more from her ED school either except an invitation to a local party which was geared toward applicants. She had to send in a housing form with her preferences and habits with her deposit. You will probably hear more in April when the RD students are accepted.

We've watched the website and seen that our S's got an ID and email address already, but not much else. We've assumed it's sort of a quite time with the winter break so we haven't expected much. Not many people around and not much going on. As MotherOfTwo said, except for some financial aid forms (to prove we're not entitled) we don't expect much until April when they start worrying about housing, etc.

It's not just where you've been accepted that are quiet. Another school where we applied (and will withdraw) just now acknowleged receiving the transcripts we know were sent 8 weeks ago.

On receipt of the deposit, S got a nice letter from BU welcoming him saying that housing, etc. info will be mailed in March. Also, a cool slick promo piece that's a pop-out map of the campus, Boston, important phone numbers, and a T subway map on the back.

Last year, other than receiving confirmation of ED deposit in January, my D had no other contact with her LAC until receiving an invitation to the admitted students' weekend in April. Her acceptance packet had a few forms in it (housing questionnaire, picture for face book, and a few other minor things) that were due June 1st. Just hang in there, lots of material will be filling your mailbox later this year. And none of it will be from the admissions office - you are done with them!

Last year, we didn't get a confirmation of the deposit until MUCH later. I had already made a call to make sure they got it. I think that this time of year, the ED acceptees are the last thing on their minds.
