ED for DYSON AEM?

hello all.
I am a junior in high school in NY.

I am concerned whether I would be wasting my early decision option to college if I apply to Cornell. I plan on studying Economics/Business.

I would say I am in the top 10 of a class of 300 in a competitive high school.
I had a 720 on CR. 700 on M and 690 on Writing.
I also got a 800 on my SAT II for World History, and I got a 800 on my SAT II in U.S History, a 770 on Chem and a 710 on Math I.

I have 98.9 GPA weighted average and over a 97 average without the weight.

Yes, you should apply to Dyson. Your chances are better than average ED.

your SAT scores might be on the weaker side. applying ED will definitely boost your chances, given historical numbers.

How do you like AEM? Is it difficult or a lot of work? How are job placements and have you gotten any internships? Lastly, is it a good school to get into Investment Banking? Sorry for the questions, but thanks for the responses guys.

any other responses guys?

AEM is the best of both worlds – the plenty of opportunities from being at the biggest Ivy + small-enough business program in which you can get individual attention if you want it. no, it’s not a lot of work at all. but business programs should be that way because your extracurriculars and leadership experiences are more important. job placement from Cornell / AEM is spectacular. all of my peers have internships / jobs. yes… i have gotten internships. Merrill after freshman year, banking after soph year at a bulge bracket, banking at a different bulge bracket right now the summer after junior year. so… yes, it is a great school to get into banking. recruiting is not a problem if you work to get what you want.

i would just rather spend four years at a college with a campus rather than go to school in the city (NYU). you have your whole life to live in a city.

Thank you so much! I think what you said is great to hear and feel with my cornell internship connections among my ecs that Cornell if i ed is possible and feel very comfortable now to hear a student’s experience at AEM. Thanks so much Hilariousimlolin!

well im not going to hide the fact that im biased :)
