ED form for Dart

hey im planning to apply ED to dart and it says to send in the pre application as soon as you know your applying, does that include the ED form as well?

I'm 90% sure it's just that one form. All they need is to start creating your file sooner than later. Don't you have to check off an ED box?

aaliyah4 , i'm applying to Dartmouth ED too and i was also wonderin what to do about that early decision agreement thing.. i figure i'll just send it not b/c what's worst case.. it's supposed to go in later? i meant it won't matter if it comes in early

I remember I sent my pre app and ed agreement online through common app...

hey where exactly is that pre app agreement, can you guys help me with that, im also wondering about that

if ur planning on mailing it then u should go to <a href="http://www.dartmouth.edu/apply/admissions/forms/download.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.dartmouth.edu/apply/admissions/forms/download.html</a> to download and print it. if ur planning on sending it electronically then you should just go to commonapp.org and list dartmouth under the tab colleges. the pre app should show up under supplements

another question maybe unrelated to ED. According to the application, your personal statement should only be within 250-500 words. However, I am now having real difficulty reducing the total number of words in my personal statement. Do they accept a 800-900 word essay, i mean does it hurt your application at all.
To aaliyah4: Thanks for the information provided

It is not a matter of 800-900 words hurting your application but the common application only takes so much text so it will cut you off. I do think that you should really edit out some more. If you do not see anythig have someone you trust be a second reader for you. I am sure they will find some things that you can do without saying.

all the best.

But if I am applying electronically, they allow me to go up to 6000 characters on the commonapplication online, which is equivalent to approximately 800-900 words. Do you mean to say that even if they allow 6000 characters, once you exceed the 500 words maximum, the computer will no longer be able to see your remaining essay. I really need to get this clarified as I have a lot to get across in my essay. Thanx sybbie719

I know that the common application does truncate information. I won't reinvent the wheel here but since it is a topic that has been discussed on the parents forum I will just supply the link
