ED Help!

I am currently a junior in high school and I am seriously considering ED to Northwestern! I was just wondering if anyone has gotten accepted (any years) ED to Northwestern? If so, what were your stats??? And if you know anybody who was accepted ED can I have their stats to? I am just curious to see what kind of students Northwestern accepts ED. I have a decent GPA and SAT scores ect. but I want to be very confident of getting accepted! Please help! Thanks! Ohh and I know that their admit rate is a lot higher ED than regualr. Like 30% are accepted regular when around 50% are accepted ED!

Actually RD was less than 30% last year. The 30% was for overall (RD+ED). The difference is even bigger than you listed. There was a ED decision thread quite a while back. A few people with 1900s got into Medill (relatively low math score but good writing score and ECs). But if you read the RD decision thread, quite a few with 2200+ got rejected. Maybe they aren't representative. But it really looks to me the advantage of ED is pretty significant.

really? wow! thats good...i am getting a little more confident in this ED!

mitchellheckman, here's this year's ED results thread: http://www.dailynorthwestern.com/vnews/display.v/ART/2006/04/21/44485b504ceae

the website you gave me doent talk about ED!!!!!!!!!! It talks about: "Department drops World Systems class
International Studies also includes optional honors thesis, may offer minor" FYI!

lol

.

Uhg... sorry. Too much stuff in my clipboard. Here you go:

I too am considering ED to Northwestern. I want to apply to Medill, though I'm worried 'cause I have no journalism extracurriculars (it's a class at my school, and doesn't fit into my schedule! Oh well...) I think my 800 CR and 800 writing score on the SAT may make up for it (590 on the math - ouch! Well, it was my first try, maybe I can bring it up?). Hopefully I'll see you there in a coupe years, Mitchell :-D.

Thanks nan for the page!!! MissSuperFantastic, I sure hope you get accepted and with those writing and CR scores you should be able to get in without a problem. Suggestion: try to get your math score above 600 and you will be fine! I have the same problem as you. Wel...I do have my EC Newspaper for journalism experience but thats nothing to good. My school also has a journalism class but like you, it doesnt fit into my schedule. Hope to see you next year at Medill!! :)

You're welcome, mitchellheckman. My daughter applied ED and is now a freshman this year at NU. Let me know if you can use any more info from the parent angle.
