"Applicants not considered competitive for the joint degree program are still considered for a single degree admission, as indicated by your choice of single degree program on Form 1C"

The policy on joint-degree admissions is pretty confusing. There's one part of Form 1C where you can indicate whether or not you would like to be considered ED to your single-degree choice as well. You have to sign it again because its a binding committment. If you don't sign it, you will still be considered for your single-degree choice, it just wont be binding. Two examples:

CASE 1: If you sign the ED agreement on Form 1C: Now if you're deferred from Huntsman, you can still be considered for Wharton ED. If you get accepted to Wharton ED, you have to go to Wharton.

CASE 2: If you don't sign the ED agreement on Form 1C: Now if your deferred from Huntsman, you will 1) FIRST be reconsidered for Huntsman at RD time and 2) THEN be considered for Wharton RD

I signed the ED agreement, and I got deferred. (1) Was I deferred from Huntsman and never considered during Wharton ED? or (2) was I rejected from Huntsman and deferred from Wharton ED? If 2nd choice is what ocurred, during the RD round, since I was rejected from Huntsman, will I only be considered for Wharton or will I still have a chance for Huntsman?

I have emailed the admissions office and never got an answer.

I asked my adcon about this. She had to call me back to find an answer because she wasnt sure. She said your entire app is deferred including the joint degree if you signed the waiver. If you were not good enough you would have been rejected from your single degree and your app as a whole.
