ED Huntsman/ CAS?

Hi Guys,

After doing some research, I think I've found a winner in Penn. I've visited before but after looking at it again online, I just felt it. Anyway, I'm really interested in the Huntsman program and I just wanted to get a gut-check on whether I should try to pursue it. Here are stats:

As for fin. aid, my parents make around 220k, so we'd only get like 2k a year at most private schools. Even if I apply ED, can I try to negotiate w/ the fin aid officers at Penn to make it a little more affordable

Also, if you think I'm not qualified for Huntsman, what do you think about CAS?

Thanks!

Forgot to mention in ECs:

Rec League Basketball for 6 years, will volunteer coach 7th graders this fall

C’mon, guys; 300 views and nothing

Also, what do you think of my chances for just Wharton?

bumpy bump

bumpy bump

No one’s replying because it’s quite obvious you’re qualified. Keep improving and striving higher and you may find yourself at Penn next year. You don’t need our confirmation to validate that you’re a great student.

Thanks spiffy,

my only concern is that now I’m leaning towards applying to Wharton, yet I really don’t have any business ECs (though I will take AP Econ next year). Will having no business ECs be a problem?

No

tenchar

No…

Perhaps you can do an internship this summer or something. Or you can emphasize in your essays you love business.

They won’t reject you for not being president of a business club…

that’s a big relief to hear (well, read). It’s kinda been weighing on me for a while now.

I’ve been looking for business internships and reading about them on CC. the consensus is that business ECs are usually reserved for college soph/juniors.

Also, how could I reflect business in my essays? The two propmts this year were:

introduce yourself to Penn. Our aim is to
better understand how your identity, talents, and background
guide your day-to-day experiences. (150 words)

and

Considering both the specific undergraduate school to which you are applying and the unique aspects of the University of
Pennsylvania, what do you hope to learn from and contribute to the Penn community? (500 words)

How could I show interest in business in these essays?

The 2nd one easily. You’ll find a way…I did. :)

I think I get it now. Just took some thinking.

Spiffy, how do u like wharton?

I don’t go to Wharton. I haven’t decided between Wharton and Stanford yet. I’m still a high school senior ;)

whoops. Just take your time and go with where you think you’ll truly be happy. Don’t think, feel
