ED I and ED II

ok, so i have a dilemma....
originally, back...way back before november 1st, i set off to apply ED I to an university; however, as the days went by, i started researching other schools
now, my second choice school has a ED II option that has a deadline for dec. 15th; ironically the same day that ED I's come back
i was wondering if i could, right now, 10 days prior to the news of my ED I school, apply ED II to my second choice....
i ran it past my GC's and he went to his supervisor, and they both said that, unless the school had rolling ED, i could apply ED II at my second choice now
however, is this legally possible? im not really giving up on my first choice, but i feel my chances slowly slipping away....and i was wondernig if i should get a head start on my second choice

advice? should i apply now, wait out until dec. 15th?

Call the EDII school and find out. This policy varies based on the school.

Generally, EDII is the same committment as EDI - you are saying that you will attend if admitted. I doubt very much that a school would find this acceptable, but you could certainly ask.
If you are deferred EDI and still have an EDII app out, you could be in a pickle if they both accept you in April.

Can't you call and cancel an application? That might work, send ED II now and if you get accepted on ED I then you call to cancel your ED II application?

how about you send in all your stuff on the last day
once you find out from ED1 school
