I am considering applying to Vanderbilt for early decision, and I just have a quick question on the system. When I visited the school the speaker said that they have 2 early decision programs, one due by November and one in January. Is there any real difference between the two? By that, I mean does one have a better chance of getting into Vandy in the ED I pool over the ED II pool, or do both ED's give an equal boost to one's chances?

Personally, I would think that more apply to the ED II pool, therefore you have a better shot if you apply to the ED I pool. But that is not based on any facts whatsoever.

That seems like a logical enough explanation, thanks for the help.

you can do ED1 at a different school and if you get deferred or rejected you can do ED2 at vanderbilt. thats a big reason they have the ED2 option...kids who get rejected from ivies, etc. often apply to vanderbilt ED2
