Does anyone know if they'll come out sometime before the 15th, on the 15th, or is it that the decisions are simply sent out on the 15th?
Thanks!

they come out before the 15th. i think i got mine a week early last year.

How do the early decisions come out? E-mail? Web Site? When do you hear?

they send you letters. and at least last year, the acceptance letter was like 2 pages. so don't freak out if you don't get the "big envelope"

Has anyone heard yet?

yes- i got my acceptance today!

where do you live, watson? how big was the envelope?

i live in Massachusetts...and the envelope was big-clearly the "big envelope"
good luck!

thanks! congrats btw! hmm...i live in MA as well but haven't received anything yet...waiting is agonizing

So is anyone else headed to Oberlin next year? Has everyone received their decisions by now?

i still have not heard! I live in MA too, this is just crazy!

I was accepted to the conservatory. I recieved an e-mail notification first and then the letter the day after. It really is my number one school.

Hello everyone! I am an international applicant from Shanghai, China. I got an email acception on Dec.14 but haven't received the big envelope yet. It's been so long! ><

The mail came today and nothing yet - I called the admissions office, and apparently, my letter was mailed this Wednesday, and they said that if I don't get by January 2, they'll e-mail or fax me, but they won't tell me over the phone - does this seem just a little ridiculous to anyone? What if the post office has problems/loses it/etc - it seems like an extremely cruel and inefficient way of letting ED applicants know...anyone else in my boat?

I've already received my decision, but I absolutely agree with you. The Oberlin website says that the notification date is Dec. 15. The letter should have been at your house by then...and it is very bizarre that they mail the letters at different times Did they say why they wouldn't tell you over the phone?

I think that is rediculous that they won't let you know an ED until Jan. 2. What if a kid didn't get in - how would they have time to apply elsewhere? Seems very unfair to me.

watson84-I didn't ask them why, but maybe they have confidentiality rules...but then again, they could just ask for your social security number, so I don't know; there's no other good reason I can think of

carolyn-They mailed out my letter Dec. 20th; it's Dec. 23rd and I STILL have not received it yet...gah, I just want my blasted letter! Guess my potential Christmas gift won't be arriving on time...

Congrats to those who've been accepted though; hopefully I'll join you guys soon!

Did you ever hear?

ACCEPTED - I just found out today - a belated Christmas gift, but a gift nonetheless! YAY! (For ED II/RD/any ED I applicants left, it was a thin, but big envelope)

Congrats! sparrow474
Yeah, a little bit dissappointed by the thin envelope
