ED II Applicants!

Hey guys,

I was just excited about tomorrow, and decided I would create a thread for all the ED II applicants. I'm nervous and have no idea what to expect!
Good luck to everbody!

So where is everybody from? And what other colleges have you guys applied to?

Arghhhhhh. Got deferred EDII.

Just a question. Does Midd only Accept or Defer its ED II applicants? Or can they also reject straightaway without consideration in RD?

Secondly, is deferral essentially a rejection? I mean wouldn’t the acceptance rate for deferrals be lower than RD applicants? Surely, if I was good enough I would have been accepted in ED group. Whats your opinion? Strange thing it is, the deferral. ‘Rejection in disguise’ :(

Don’t give up! Others may have the statistics, but people definitely get in after being deferred (I might have read 15 - 20%). 2 of the two I know who applied EDII got in regular decision. See what your counselor says, but I would send them a letter reiterating your interest and highlighting any new awards or activities.

Supposedly, less than 10% of deferred ED applicants get in…someone in admissions told me that two years ago.

Well… even if that number is accurate at 10%, it’s not a no. And I believe schools absolutely outright reject at all stages (ED I, II, RD).

If it is one of your top schools and especially if it’s at the very top, I would absolutely write a note of interest explaining more or less, “Why Midd?”
