ED II Questions

Isn't one signalling with ED II, that you have already applied elsewhere ED I and you didn't get in, thereby designating your ED II choice second best?

Given that, how much of a boost is EDII?

Not necessarily. Some people just don't know by EDI time.

My Question is similar,
If you don't apply ED II, doesnt that mean it isn't your top choice? Especially if you turn in your application around the time ED II is due.

I know EDII for some schools is generally more selective than EDI. i.e Middlebury EDI 30% EDII 16% (approx.)

^ Isn't 16% about Middlebury's overall acceptance rate? Doesn't look like EDII is much of a boost.

So, given that, what would be the reason to apply ED II? Can anyone who has applied EDII help us out here?

Hi. My experience...I visited lots of schools last year and narrowed my choices to 3. I visited them on overnights and narrowed the chocie to 2...based on lots of reasons I chose 1 of them and applied ED1. I was deferred and very disapoointed - felt like the school didnt see my talents or my potential.

We scambled and applied ED2 at 2nd school and was accepted last month. I dont think that I would have had a chance if I didnt apply ED2. The best feeling ever was getting that acceptance from ED2 school and then 30 minutes later sending an email to ED1 school asking them to withdraw my application - their loss...

ED2 mad a huge difference for me...
