is the ED II acceptance rate significantly higher than the regular?

42% vs 26%

betterday55, do you mean EDII is 42%? Is there any reason for such a high acceptance rate? I'm just wondering.

yea, 42% for ED II for last year. I don't know why, I'm guessing Emory still isn't the "top choice" school for many students, causing the applicant pool to be relatively smaller than the Ivy League's ED pool.

Where did you find those stats? I've been told that they don't publish statistics for both ED1 and ED2. They just publish the combined statistic.

When I was first accepted to Emory, I saw a link on one of the threads on the facebook Emory 2011 group that showed the number of applicants who applied vs those who were accepted for both ED I and II. It's been a while ago, so I can't really dig them up. You may be right, since those threads can be sketchy sometimes. I'm just providing the info that I've gathered.

According to Princeton Review's 361 best colleges,

Early vs Regular is

52% vs 37%

This is combined EDI and II though.

Emory says that their RD rate for the class of 2011 was roughly 27%, its on their website

Class Profile

actually i dont know if thats ED combined with RD, but I am pretty sure there RD rate is somewhere between 25-30 percent

that is pretty tough because all the students who apply to Emory are usually top students and somewhat special.
