Ed II

Hello all... I'm a senior from central Pennsylvania who applied ED II to Davidson, and now I'm anxiously awaiting my decision... How many others here applied ED II?

I talked to the Pennsylvania admissions rep. briefly when I was visiting the campus a few weeks ago, and he told me he would personally be the one reading my application. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to email him now, before I hear back about my decision, just to make sure he knows how much I want to go to Davidson, and to see if he has any questions about my app... Or would this just make me seem too anxious? As you can see, I am pretty anxious.. I really want to go to Davidson :)

Let me know what you think. Thanks!

staying in contact is always a good thing, as long as its not obsessive! it makes admissions officers remember you and what they liked about you. just don't make it over the top because no one likes that!

Caronaut is right, it's good for you to make your presence known to your admissions officer; however, you have to be careful about how you do that. I wouldn't recommend emailing them, "Dear Admissions officer, I'm DYING TO GO TO DAVIDSON." etc.

I would email them a question about student life or admissions, instead, after re-introducing yourself and reminding the admissions officer that you're applying EDII.

How about me? I don't know who read my application! Should I still send them email and ask questions that you recommend to make them know how badly I want to join Davidson?

No, I wouldn't. Unless you find out your regional admissions officer and have a specific question, I wouldn't pester them too much. That said, I wouldn't be afraid of contacting them, either, because they're really nice! Just don't do it too often.

Thanks Amlifiar842 ;)

So, when do you guys hear?

It looks like we'll hear Wednesday night at 9. I'm just trying not to think about it too much.

I don't blame you. Senior year, however fun, is almost always best described in one word: anxiety.

Stay distracted! Bask in your senioritis!

I can't wait to hear about everyone's good news!

Does anyone know when the RD decisions came out last year? I know it says April 1st, but I have a feeling Davidson can get finished sooner.

This year it could be different, just because it was so much more competitive (I know that in October this year, they had twice as many applicants as they had by November during our year -- just last academic year), but I think my letter was dated March 27th and that I received it in the mail March 29th.

I talked to someone in admissions last night, they've made all their decisions for ED but yes they won't be mailed or posted until tomorrow. She was really excited about the incoming class, you all sound fantastic. Good luck everyone.

wow, best of luck to you EDII guys!
So davidson has received about DOUBLE the number of apps it received last year?! that's crazy! make me cross my fingers even tighter!

I don't know that overall they received double the applications -- frankly, that would be INSANE! But by that point before the deadline, they had received twice as many as during our year at the same time. Davidson has gotten significantly more competitive in the last five years, I can say that.

My d was accepted to Davidson ED2 today and is SOOOO excited!!!!!
