If Stanford had ED instead of EA this year, would you have applied ED?

I would have wanted to. But, my parents probably would of said no (damn money thing!)...

i would have applied. so fast.

Not a chance. I applied because of the schools I'd really like to go to, I figured I had the best chance at Stanford E.A., but I still have no idea what my top choice is. That decision is waiting until April.

Oh hell yes

i still would have

Ofcourse! they should have sticked with the ED! that way they get smart AND committed people, instead of smart and possibily committed people.

I would not have. probably gone with Harvard or MIT EA.

Any other EA applicants not sure if Stanford is quite the right place for them? I know that it's an amazing school, but how can I be sure that it fits my personality/interests/etc. well? What if there's no school out there that's perfect (or close to it) for me?

Is there any website or book in the market which would address such issues (what a place is like, dorms, philosophy of people,...)? So to have a chance to get better knowledge of places without going there in person?

I know there's some big book about stanford with nearby restaurants, descriptions of the different dorms, etc. It didn't have that much info, but it might be helpful. I have NO clue if there's any way to get a copy of it though. (I was at Stanford for a summer program and in was with a bunch of magazines in one of the common area rooms)
