oh and no SAT II’s

oh and i’m a middle class white male. with outstanding essays/recs

Your a little bit below the 50th percentile and I believe JHU requires 2-3 SAT 2 tests.

no they just recommend them.

I hate second page.

third page is even worse:(

I think you have a pretty good shot ED. If you really did write outstanding essays, then you should be in no problem. Although you may be a little low GPA and test score-wise, you won’t be cast off soley because of them, and if you can shine through your essays, I’d say you are in!

Chance me back?

awesome yeah ill chance you.

JHU “Strongly encourages” 2-3 Subject tests. In the real world that pretty much means required.I think thats a big red flag for applicants who don’t submit Subject test scores.

I’m ED too.
I got 660+770+670 and I’m so worried too. I’m Asian though lol.
Don’t worry about SAT IIs unless you applied engineering though. Try and get yer SAT up, but you applying ED will really help. What is your Unweighted GPA? How do you have the national AP scholar and only a 3.83 GPA? You must be extremely smart to get the NATIONAL ap scholar award and a 3.83 does not really go with that.

3.83 is unweighted on a 4 pt scale. and the national ap scholar award isn’t all that hard to get. its not like national merit

Parchment says: You have about a 57% chance of getting in ED if your essays are awesome.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/yale-university/1408089-how-good-my-chances-yale.html

what or who is parchment?

A chancing site that I spent about 5 minutes putting your data into. Using past data about applicants with stats similar to yours, it does forward chances.

The confidence rating for this prediction of 57% is 69.6%.

More specifically, of all the people who they tell “you have a 57% chance of getting in”, they are 69.6% sure that 57% of those people will get in.

hmm that’s pretty cool. i’ll look into that site thanks! btw i chanced you

Thanks, dude.

i think your chance of getting ed is 50/50, if not below 50. Your SAT score is slightly below avg, your gpa is slightly above avg, but i feel like you need something that will make you stand out (thr your essays or e.c.s). there are plenty of applicants to hopkins with similar or higher numbers. Are you good enough in tennis to get recruited? Have you won any awards thr JCL/Latin club? Any personal stories that make you stand out?

59/50 indeed sounds right.

no i won’t get recruited and i came in 3rd in a latin area individual competition. and yes in my essays i related the passing of my mother from breast cancer to why i want to pursue medicine.
