I know Duke always releases their early decision notification before December 15th, but does anybody know what exact day it will be this year?

The date will be released by email to the applicants (and later on the website) probably about a week before the actual decisions are released.

Wait… so does that mean they will hear a week BEFORE the 15th?

Also, any chance things will be delayed because of the extension in the app deadline?

No…The date will be release, not the decision. the decision will still be released on the date specified in the first email.

No, a delay of a few days will most likely not delay release of decisions

Anybody have a more definitive answer from calling admissions or something?

My interviewer said she calls me if I got in, any truth to this?

The interviewer finds out on the same day that you get your acceptance mail by post, so no, I don’t think that’s true. I know for sure they find out after you find out. She might call to congratulate you if you get in but she will not be the one giving you your admissions decision.

Oh ok that makes sense thanks!

I asked admissions today, specifically seeing if it was actually going to be delayed due to the storm and the extension for apps. She said they are “trying to do everything they can to have the decisions out by the expected time” (which I’m assuming is the 15th). Hope this helps.

I asked her about a date they NEED the first quarter grades by, since we need to make a change on DS report card, and she had his file open in front of her. I was dying for a hint or something!! I wanted her to say, “Oh, your son has already been accepted as long as his first quarter grades are commensurate with his ability”! No such luck…

So I’m guessing it’ll actually be the 15th this year rather than the the 14th or something? And I applied ED as well, they’ll send the “heads-up” email one week before the actual notification date?

Still expect the 12th or 13th. A Friday or Saturday doesn’t make sense and waiting to the 17th gets you out of step with your peers and steps on the EA schools. Penn announced the 12th today.

Sounds about right, I don’t think Duke has ever done a weekend release in recent years that I can recall.

The early thanksgiving might also affect the timing of those decisions…

Please post if you get email of date change from the 15th! Best of luck to all…

Dartmouth and Columbia are the 6th so all the Ivies are done by the 13th with Cornell being last.

^False. Yale releases their decisions on the 14th

Yale is SCEA.

Duke sent out email today that states ED results released next Wednesday at 6PM

Just got the email that says decisions next Wednesday at 6!

tennisforall, I don’t see how Yale being SCEA is relevant at all. You said “all the Ivies are done by the 13th with Cornell being last.” Last time I checked, Yale was still an Ivy, and it is releasing decisions on the 14th.
