Woo Hoo! Way to go, Bamagirl !!! You had me worried over the weekend -- I know how much you wanted Barnard -- so I would have been very disappointed if the answer had been anything else besides a big fat YES!

Congrats also to PTdaughter -- and welcome to to PTMom to the CC Barnard Parents Association! Soon, like me, you will be driving a car with a "Barnard" sticker in the window. :)

YAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!

Hooo-ray for us Bamagals and for southern women in general at Barnard!!!

I will tell my daughter to expect "one more"!!!

I am so excited for you!!!

thanks everyone...i really appreciate all the support that i got here....and congrats to all future Barnard Women!!!!! Class of 2011, baby!!!

Hey

I've been reading this thread alot but I've never really posted on it unitl now. I'm from SIngapore and applied to barnard ED. I was just wondering if Barnard emails their decisions to international students or do I have to wait for regular mail? I want to go to Barnard so much and the waiting is seriously killing me.

Congratulations to all who got in!!

Chocolatestain -- you should email Barnard admissions - they will know the answer to your question. If they were sending out email notification, I think you would have it by now -- but obviously the postal mail is going to take longer to get to Singapore.

Coffeetoffee - If I remember correctly, I sent them an additional teacher recommendation from my senior year, I wrote a letter stressing how Barnard was still my first choice and that I felt I could contribute to the BC community, and of course, I called - which showed that I was very concerned and was willing to find out what I could do to improve my chances.

I emailed the admissions office after calmom's advice. They've not yet replied. So imagine my surprise when I came home today from my vacation to find a FEdEx package labelled 'Extremely Urgent;. To cut the long story short, I'm in, and I couldn't be happier.

Congratulations!!!

I'm kind of wondering whether your email was received on the other end -- Barnard was pretty good about answering email in the past, though maybe they just figured that your question would be answered with the fed ex package. But very often email sent from overseas locations, especially from Asia, gets mis-tagged as spam because of information about IP numbers that shows up in the headers. That's because so much spam originates from Asian IP numbers that many of them end up on blocklists.

So, while it doesn't matter now (fortunately), sometimes its a good idea to follow up an unanswered email with a phone call. (You can use Skype or something similar if you have it)

plus, there just may not be anyone in the admissions office right now to answer that e-mail!

Congrats!!!!

This is a great site! I actually just stumbled upon it while I was googling information about Barnard.
I applied ED and found out on Dec. 15 that I was accepted! :) Congrats to everyone else and I look forward to meeting you all soon.

Welcome, dic89 and congrats to you on your acceptance! This site will be a great resource to you for info as the time draws near for you to attend Barnard.

Hope we get to see you there some time!

hey i know this is really late but i got in e.d. and was just puttering around on the internet and found this! i'm sooo excited :)

Congrats, "girl" and Welcome to Barnard!
