Guys, it’s a pity that I don’t have a chance to attend Colgate with you all next year. The rejection letter arrived this morning. I haven’t been home since morning so I have no idea what it looks like (my brother got it for me). A little bit disappointed I guess I’m gonna have to go through the painful application process once again, with coming deadlines Anyway, congrats to those accepted and great luck to internationals who haven’t received the notification :)

It’s sad that with your 13th post, you’re announcing your unfortunate decision from Colgate.

Hope you take it positively, at least you can focus on your applications unlike the rest of us. I am anxiously waiting for it to arrive, knowing pretty well that it’s a rejection, but unable to work on the other applications until I actually get the letter.

Hey, I know this might not be the best time to ask, but what did the letter say? I mean if it’s RD I guess they will only say the application pool was the very competitive. With ED, they don’t have that excuse…

Dreadfully waiting for my letter to arrive…

Hope you get into your second choice school! :)

@ mysterious
I’m so sorry to hear that bro !!!
anyway, i hope you get into your second choice coll. and please copy the first line of this post…coz you will be writing same thing to me some days later…
good luck internationals !!!

:)

“Please understand that our decision is not a reflection on your prospects for success in college - it is more accurately a reflection of Colgate’s competitive applicant pool.” This is their excuse :D

u seem to have a great ECs but i think you got rejected only because of your SAT

640CR and colgate…almost impossible

i know a guy with NIL ECs getting into colgate.
here goes his stats:

Hi everyone! Here’s an international ED admitted student. My first post lol.

Hey everyone this is another international student form Jamaica, After reading all of your comments i am beginning to believe that i have very slim chances. I applied ED, Is anyone around to chance me please?

@tiffanybent

I hate to tell you this but you should have gotten your ED decesion weeks ago. ED I decesions went out in mid December and ED II decisions went out in mid January.

If you did indeed apply ED you might want to call the admissions office and inquire about your application as some of the regular decisions have already hit US mailboxes. Good Luck.

DowneasterDad, if it’s EDII, that’s not necessarily the case. EDII decisions do not go out in mid-January, it’s actually rolling depending when you submit it. According to the Colgate website:

Decisions are made within four weeks of completion of the application.
Regular decision candidates may convert to ED II by filing an Early Decision Agreement prior to March 1.

So they can go out as late as the end of March, depending when it’s declared EDII. If someone applies around January 15th and declared EDII at that time, the decision would go out around Feb. 15, when Tiffany was asking.

The only regular decisions that might have gone out by now would be AMS. The rest of the regular decision results will all go out at the same time at the end of March.

@lydia08

everything you said was accurate. However, I was under the impression tiffany was referring to ED I, in which case receiving no word as of Feb. 17th seems forboding.

hi again. yeah i applied ED2 i changed my regular decision to ED2 as of the 16th of February and now i am almost going crazy to find out my fate. I hope it comes sooner than 4 weeks. I love Colgate! after everything I read I know its my first choice. I just hope that the lord will shine his blessing my way!
