@emoryhopeful, that’s cool haha just wondering

It is so nice to hear that… I figured my SAT was a little low, but it is because of one section. I have high 600s in Math and Writing, then a 590 in Reading–it is weird because Math was my lowest section on the ACT, while Reading was my highest with a 33! I had a few more clubs I have been a part of, but I didn’t think they made much of a difference! Emoryhopeful, your stats are great! Plus, your extracurricular activity is unique and pretty impressive! I think you have a good shot at acceptance! I don’t know much about college acceptance rates though XD Haha

Glad to see this thread getting a little more active(= Anyway, both of you have decent chances, and pretty neat ECs as well.

Emory lists demonstrated interest as an important factor in admissions according to section C7 of their CDS (Common Data Set). Applying ED is basically the ultimate proof you’re interested in attending, so for ED applicants, don’t worry about showing interest, you’ve done that already. For RD applicants, there are many ways beyond visiting the campus to show interest. Look at the bottom of the last page of the Common App supplement, http://www.emory.edu/home/_docs/Emory%20Common%20App%20Instructions%20and%20Form.pdf and see what you could do as far as contacts with the school go. Some require all of two seconds (like Oxford/Emory on Facebook, go to their website, sign up for more information or an email listserve), while others require looking into Emory professors, or contacting students which you can do here: https://blogs.emory.edu/admissionblog/ and here: [Student and Faculty Blogs | Emory College of Arts and Sciences Admission](Admission | Emory University | Atlanta GA)

Also, no one here is an admissions officer. They can’t chance you. Look at Emory’s CDS (http://www.oirpe.emory.edu/institutional_research/CDS_2011-2012_NGBRevFinal8-25-12.pdf ), go to Section C7, find out the score range of enrolled students at the Main campus and how strongly they consider certain factors. For those of you considering Oxford, here’s the average score range for Oxford’s admitted students: [Oxford College - Entering Class Profile](http://oxford.emory.edu/admission/counselors/student-profile/index.dot)

wow all you guys have better stats than i do.
making me nervous :/

Five days… I’m going crazy.

@phoenix, me too! Seriously about to have an anxiety attack haha

What is everyones “plan B” if they dont get into Emory?? I seriously have no idea what im going to do

Probably Ohio State, much to my displeasure.

If I don’t get accepted, I’m going to be kinda depressed over winter break … . I would apply RD to Vanderbilt, WashU, Johns Hopkins, UNC, UVA… those apps will be rushed and essays prob won’t have as much passion… I will be sad if I have to go to UGA tho.

guys, Georgia Tech announced that they are releasing their decisions at 12:15 PM on Saturday. I think I heard that MIT is also doing it at 12:15 PM, idk about any other schools.

Any guesses for the ED1 acceptance rate?

^ ED acceptance rate was like 40% last year

so given the increase in ED1 apps this year, it’ll be even lower I’d assume

Just got auto-admitted into UGA Honors and I got the Georgia Baldwin scholarship a week or so ago! Feelin pretty confident right now no lie (prob still won’t get in lol)

The Emory forum needs more activity. Anyone else agree?

scary but just wanted to put it out there that i’m also applying ED! really anxious, but i’m excited! i wish they gave us an official time because i have no idea. my parents are convinced we aren’t hearing on a weekend…i dont know! hope it all ends up in our favor! good luck to all applying! :)

@maymay17 haha same. I’m like dying. What are you going to do when you get accepted? I’ll probably dance like a madman.

I don’t have a solid “plan B” but as I said earlier, if I don’t get into Emory/Oxford, I sent an EA app to Tulane and Georgia State, and I’m applying RD at Trinity, Reed, American, and UGA. Ohh, and Wake Forest. But if I don’t get into Emory/Oxford, I’ll probably end up at Georgia State, which wouldn’t be all that bad, seeing as I’d probably get into the honors college, I’d get the Hope Scholarship (87% of tuition) and would probably get some other scholarships too… There’s one huge scholarship that’s only for people from my county, so I could probably win that too. Still REALLY hoping to get into Oxford, though!!!

@phoenix, dancing is always a solid option haha. If I get accepted, I’ll probably cry tears of joy first and then stuff my face with ice cream and other unhealthy things :)
