the stress of this and exams is going to kill me haha

i cant believe AU is making fools of themselves like this…i wish they had given my daughter a notification about when they will be releasing these applications…it seems as if every other college is informing their students…as a parent I do not appreciate being strung along like this…this is really really upsetting and saddening that American Admissions has decided to treat its applicants like this.

Hey everyone- I’m an American University ED applicant for 2017 out of Pennsylvania, and I’ve been so incredibly anxious! Does anyone think we’ll be receiving our notifications today, or do you think they’ll be pushed to next week? I’ll be watching this thread carefully, waiting on results.

this wait will be worth it if we all get in (knock on wood)

We are anxious and waiting as well. Hopefully we will hear back soon. Does anyone have any idea about merit scholarships and if they are generous for ED applicants?

My mail comes in an hour or two. I’ll be out, but I’ll be sure to post whether or not I’ve received a letter as soon as I can.

I am in the same boat as all of you, I’m a little frustrated that this is taking long and they don’t notify you online or through calls. I go to boarding school and all my friends that applied ED already know so i’m pretty anxious. Hopefully we find out soon I’m going crazy.

no mail today…I am sorry. My daughter is a ball of stress right now. She has exams this week and she just can not focus until she hears back. I honestly though that AU would be better than what they are doing.

I am as anxious as everyone here but we need to have some perspective. AU stated clearly that ED notifications would be made by the 31st. It is only because of the random postings of people with no direct knowledge that we all began expecting to hear two weeks earlier than AU promised. Yes, many ED schools released their decisions but how many of those have a 70% ED admit rate? We all just need to take a deep breath and relax.

im more than willing to wait a few more days…the people at AU have been very good to me…besides they are only doing what they told us they would do(have them in by december 31st)…i wish everyone here good luck …hopefully we will all be seeing each other next year at AU

Yeah, nothing good today. I agree with what others are saying- though we can look back to past years, they told us “By December 31st” and nothing else. We shouldn’t expect to be receiving it today. With that said, I think receiving a letter early next week (Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday) is completely feasible.

Also, keep an eye on their Twitter account. They typically will send out a twitpic of the letters the day they send them out.

I’m not upset that they haven’t mailed decisions yet, because they seem to be keeping pretty firm with telling people that decisions will be received “By December 31st” but it’s still making me so nervous, I can hardly focus on other things. Next week can’t come fast enough.

I’ve been watching this thread religiously but I haven’t had the chance to post yet. But it’s been such great comfort. Knowing there are other people freaking out about the same school as me. I love American and getting an acceptance letter would be the best thing to ever happen to me. I agree that hearing later than everyone else is torturous, but we were forewarned. I hope we’re all classmates next year. That’d be pretty funny.

I hope you’re right, Luna!

Ha. That would be really great. Everyday I’m getting more and more anxious. And it’s good knowing that there’s people in the same position as you are, so at least some of the weight is taken off. :)

I completely agree. I don’t know anyone that’s done American ED so it’s cool to connect with those that have. Watching people get rejected is so hard, and it’s somewhat daunting to know that that could be you in a one week’s time.

Hi everyone!! I looked at the Admission twitter accountant and they uploading a picture of the ED acceptance booklets so we can expect them in the mail very very soon. I wish you all luck!!

Oh my goodness, anxiousness level x10. They will probably be here by Wednesday.

Oh jeez I had no idea there was a separate account for admissions, I never would’ve seen it. Thankya. Good luck everybody! Do you think mail from DC to CT could get here by tomorrow afternoon?
