Are ED option I admissions decisons MAILED on the 15th or December? Or does an applicant hear their decision BY the 15th of December? Or does an applicant typically get their admission reply around the 15th in the mail?

I don't know, but reading some posts here on CC about ED last year, it looks like some people started finding out around the 13th. Ahh I can't wait!!!

Good luck!

Last year my daughter received her ED1 letter (with good news) on Monday, December 11th (although there is a possibility that the letter arrived the prior Saturday, December 9th). Good luck to all you ED1 hopefuls!

Have you already sent Vassar your first term grades? For some reason my counselor wants me to wait until after the break so we can send them together.

If by first quarter, than yes. The Vassar application instructions explicitly state that first term/quarter/trimester grades are required to be mailed in with your ED application.

Yeah, I've read through the requirement over and over just shaking my head. I called Vassar to make sure it would be alright to send them a little later, and they told me it would be acceptable to do so. However, this is just another one of those circumstances that has contributed to my dislike of high school.

I thought the 1st quarter grades had to be in as soon as they come in - we would have missed the ED1 deadline, so we sent in the ED application/grades/recommendations by the 12th, and then the grades on the 14th, as soon as we got them.

^I meant the above.

A better way to put it is that Vassar won't wholly consider your ED appplication until your first term/quarter grades are in.

Where in the application are submission rules for 1st quarter grades mentioned?

^Those are the rules for all EARLY DECISION APPLICATIONS. I don't believe the rule applies to REGULAR DECISION APPLICATIONS.

read the underlined area, where it states:

"Please note that we cannot evaluate your application until we receive your first quarter or first tri mester grades and the signed early decision form."

Thanks, Onilawliet. If you apply on-line you don't see anything about first quarter grades.

Hmm...really?

Idk, I kind of feel that any college one applies early to wants to see first quarter grades.

I would double check on that online app. Maybe call or email vassar regarding first quarter grades?

So I just got an email today from Vassar with an ID number so I can see the status of my app. Everything is in except SAT scores, which I'm sure should be arriving in the next day..

However, for the supplement it says "received," but I don't know if they received both my yourspace which was mailed in (it's kind of bulky) or just the Why Vassar essay which was submitted electronically. Should I call them and ask to make sure they received my yourspace?
Thanks.

mairoula, yes. Definitely call.

...Wow, I'm writing on the Vassar board. Oh well, I guess I just love it because it was one of the three I was choosing between, though I ultimately loved Wesleyan much more. Best of luck to all of you! :)

Attn: Ofcounsel:

Was the ED notification in a fat or thin envelope?

Are the ED notification letters in fat or thin envelopes if accepted?

Fat Envelopes.

Dear Native NJ:

Last year the acceptance letter for ED1 was in a large white envelope (big enough to contain a standard 8.5"x11" sheet of paper without folding it) with a large Vassar logo on the lower left front of the envelope. The envelope contained just two sheets of paper and a regular #10 business reply envelope (so the envelope was thin). The two sheets of paper were (i) the letter saying something like "You're in!" and (ii) a form that you have to sign accepting the offer (to be mailed back to Vassar in the envelope provided).

Good luck!

Oh god...18 days!

Damn, I can't wait any longer!!
