I want to apply ED to Pomona because its my number one choice and I want to show how much I really want to go there. However, Fin Aid is going to be a real problem for me, but since Pomona is a need blind school I was wondering if I should apply ED. I've been wondering if you get accepted ED but don't get a suitable fin aid package, such as you really really can't afford it even with grants and loans, etc can you still back out?

If financial aid is a serious issue, I would NOT apply ED. It's too risky. I have heard, however, that if your fin aid package is seriously lacking you can back out. I've heard stories of students (not at Pomona specifically, but just ED in general) that have been "blacklisted" after pulling out of an ED committment. Again, if aid is a "real problem" for you I think ED may be too risky.
ps. I'm assuming you mean ED 2, since the ED 1 deadline was about a week ago. Just fyi :)

Pomona is very good with fin aid and you can get a good idea by looking at your EFC.They will be as good if not slightly better then any other school. That said it still is better to apply regular decision if you are uncertain about affordability.
