Does ED really help? THe two schools that I really want to go to are Pomona and Upenn. I'd like upenn better though, because it's out of state (i'm from CA) and its a new experience. However, I want to go to one of these schools. I'm in sort of a dilemna right now, because i'm wondering if I should apply ED2. I didn't think of it before because I'm going ot need a lot of financial aid. My stats aren't steller and I don't think I'd have good chances at Pomona or Upenn. However, people have said that my essays were good and unique, and I was hoping that that might boost my chances, but i'm not sure. I hear doing ED helps you get in, so what should I do? I don't want to end up being rejected from these two schools..

sorry to tell you, but u actually missed the EDII deadline... so i don't think you can for pomona anymore... and, the RD deadline was today, so you still have a few hours to turn it in... but i presume you already did?

Yes I submitted quite a while ago. But can't you just call the admissions office and ask them to consider you as ED?

I would need to resubmit the supplement with the Early Decision agreement and signiture, I doubt that would take a verbal agreement over the phone. Not sure if they would accept it at this point since EDII was due Dec 28th. And if you are applying for Fin Aid the CSS Profile and tax forms were also due Dec 28th for EDII.

I think first you have make your mind, because ED takes commitment. Are you really sure that you want to go to Pomona? From what you've said, it seems like you are not 100% sure you'd want to go to Pomona. I think you should make the choice first because you do anything else.

If you decide on ED2, you can let them know in writing and they will consider you for the pool, I would just get on that as soon as possible, because it is only a matter of time before they finish filing and start opening all these envelopes.

"I'd like upenn better though" says that you should stay with RD. If there's any doubt whatsoever in your mind, you should eliminate the ED option.

Good luck!
