accepted from DC! so excited to meet all of you! good luck to everyone who’s still waiting!

^Yayyyyyy! Congrats!!!

unfortunately, i was denied – congrats to everyone who is in, i wish the best of luck to you all!

My S is still waiting to hear. But we live in a small New England town, so who knows. His school’s Christmas Break is until Jan. 2nd, (after the Jan. 1 deadline for ED2). I’ve shifted gears toward his ED2 school in requesting transcripts, test scores be sent. Things always work out for the better

Good luck vadoursus. D received the good news here in Texas yesterday, which was just in time as we leave town today and she might have had to start on EDII essays had she not received confirmation. Something nice about a letter arriving in the mailbox…but something to be said too for an email notification going to everyone at the same time.

@ vadoursus : I think it’s reasonable, on December 21, to call the Admission Office and get some feedback so you can make plans. I don’t know if they’re in this week. Or if they will give out the information (though they should be able to e-mail it to the account on file). Still…gee whiz…it’s December 21 and you should have a response in hand by now.

Thank you for your support. I have a question. Is this an anomaly for Oberlin or a harbinger to things to come. I’m a UC Berkeley alumnus. Cal was cold and heartless, but boy were they efficient!

Admission folks are there. Exams are still going on today. Call them and end your suspense. They are very nice to work with.

Hi everyone–I hope you all have your letters by now! I’m sorry for any distress we may have caused anyone by mailing our letters a few days later than we intended. We used a brand new web-based document management system (no paper files!) for the first time this year to read and process our Early Decision applications, and we ended up with a few delays. By the way, we don’t send out emails because our Dean agrees with philadelphia’s comment above, and thinks everyone should have that letter-opening experience.
If you’re still waiting on your decision, please be aware that we don’t usually release decisions over the phone (mostly because it’s very unpleasant to have to reject someone personally), but if you don’t receive your letter by Thursday, please give us a call. Thursday is the last day our office will be open until Jan. 3rd.

Hi everyone!
Has any of you who are international students applying ED2 received his/her admission result yet? I haven’t I’m pretty worried now because I checked on the Oberlin 2015 Facebook page and there was this post reading “Welcome, Early Decision II students! Check out the ‘Introduce Yourself’ thread in the discussion section.”
