ED Predictions

chances: 3-5%
decision: ACCEPTED

reason: I don't wanna think otherwise........

Chances: 2-5%

Decision: Rejected

Reason: SAT scores of course.

worldshopper what were your scores?

Has anyone done the CC stats eval. the $89 thing, i was curious of what it said

Way above average for my school, county, state, family income level - etc. but who cares; certainly not Ptn! Ptn only accepted 25% of their applicants within the same SAT score range as mine and they were probably mostly recruits, legacy, URMs and developmental applicants. I am none of these.

GPA - definitely within range for Ptn. but not straight "A's.
Difficulty of courses - the absolute hardest possible, not at school but within entire county.
ECs - different than most applicants and all are long term with a lot of depth. Have also worked the same three part-time jobs for 4 years.
Recs - should be excellent
Essays - different and really showed my personality. I was told they were great, but let's see.
Interview - I have it today but it won't count much if any in the decision.
Personality Traits - highly desirable
Mercy factor - am going to interview with black eye and stitches on forehead. Was in ER the other night after having had an accident during practice for my sport. Still competed in my sport 2 days later. Not a factor, I know but it is just part of my personality to never quit.

worldshopper, that's pretty admirable. Don't count yourself out just yet.

Thanks Cautious, I am just trying to be realistic. I am not saying I don't have a chance, I am just stating that the chance I do have is small. My chances would be greater, had my SAT scores been higher.

grkprincetonian, what kind of minority are you?

im gonna guess that hes greek

yes i am a greek-cypriot-american, lol, enough dashes in there? I am not foreign born, but I am 75% Greek and 1 quarter Cyprian. Does that qualify as a URM in Princeton as they have no hellenic multicultural clubs.

you're certainly an interesting mix grkprincetonian, unfortunately, your cultural heritage will not serve as the same kind of advantage being black, hispanic, or native american will...

What exactly is a developmental applicant? I've heard this term before, but not sure what it is?

Hey, Grk... Pton doesn't have an Hungarian Club either, but once I'm done it will...

A development applicant is one that had ridiculously wealthy parents who will donate lots of money to the school. Not just garden-variety rich; you have to be, like, a Trump or a Vanderbilt.

Okey, thanks... I guess I'm not one of those... :)

Chances: 5%
Decision: Rejected
Reason: 600 on SAT 2 Lit test in November :(

everyone did horribly on the lit one though...i bet you cant find more than 3 people on this board who broke 750 (within the past two test dates)

is lit considered that difficult?

its really not that hard, i mean it takes some work, i think some people dont prepare enough for it because they think they dont have too or cant prepare, but i took alot of practice tests (barons and princeton review), and got 780 in october

I somehow got an 800 on Lit...I have no idea how that happened. But I seriously doubt that it'll help my chance of admission to a significant degree.

It's not as much difficult (people agree that it's pretty easy) as the curve is harsh. I think you have to get a much higher proportion of them right than on other subject tests. I dunno, correct me if I'm wrong...
