ED Problem???!!!!

I need help guys. I've made a horrible mistake!

I just got accepted early-decision, but I didn't know that the financial aid application had been due at Nov 1st as well! I thought that it was due in March-April like my early-action schools... As a result, I haven't applied for financial aid, and there is virtually no way that I can finance 100% of Cornell tuition. Is there any way for me to convince Cornell to release me from ED?

O gosh I feel so horrible.

You can apply for aid now (I mean now now) and hope that you get your aid package in less than 2 weeks (or as long as it’s before Jan. 15)

I might be in the same position - hopefully I can submit my fin aid app soon.

submitting it electronically will probably allow them to process it faster.

Don’t worry, I did the same thing. Just fill it out and send it asap. I only sent it last week.

Thanks for the helpful answers.

What if this doesn’t work (i.e. too late)? Is there any way Cornell could release me from the ED agreement?

Financial aid issues or being unable to finance your education is one of the rare instances when students are released from ED. However, you have to have done everything you can to make it work. Send in the application ASAP like others have suggested and you’ll probably be fine. I wouldn’t count on an easy release from ED.

You probably should’ve worded it differently… “ED problem” can be interpreted as, well, you know.

^^ LOL!! haha

You should phone Cornell asap and ask them what you can do. Direct help from Cornell is the best cause they are the ones making the decision.

lmao @frenchshredder, i didn’t even make that connection XD
Send it in now; I sent my UChicago fin aid app wayyyyy late, and still got an incredible fin aid estimate.

That email read more like “how can I get out of my contract” verses “how can I make this work”. do you want to find a way to make it work, or do you just want “out”?
