My D has applied ED to a super reach. She has a second school that she’s considering for ED2 if she doesn’t get in. The plan was to have it ready to go as soon as she hears from ED school. However, we just found out the deadline to apply to be considered for merit is Dec.1 so she’d have to apply regular decision. Would she be able to switch from regular to ED2? We’re afraid to call the school and ask because it will seem obvious that she’s waitining on a ED decision.
Often colleges do let you switch to ED2 but the only way to find out for certain if the information is not on the website is to call the college.
Unless the college has a specific rule against it, she can apply RD, and send an email to switch it to ED2 if the ED school rejects her/defers her.
