I've always wondered this guys:

Does the American early-decision policy apply to overseas universities? Some people have told me no and others have told me yes, but I haven't been able to get a definitive answer.

Thanks.

ED and EA policies are individual to each school. If you want to know about a school out of the US, go to their website and read their admissions policies.

I guess what Im asking is:

If someone enters an ED agreement with an American school, does the binding aspect of the agreement also apply to overseas universities?

When you apply early decision you enter a contract to go to the school you are applying to if admitted. If you are admitted and then go to another university you have broken the contract, it doesn’t matter where the other university is.

Aha, got it. Yes, a university is a university, where ever it is.

Hmm ok. I was just asking since I’ve been reading stories about how people broke their ED agreements and went to school abroad without any problems. Thanks.
